Don't turn the Gateway to West Cork into the Bottle Neck of West Cork.

The T-Prep traffic management plan (see p.79 for map) for Bandon will see Westbound and Eastbound traffic routed down Kilbrogan Hill and round the junction at the Copper Grove.  Not only this but it will do nothing to resolve the crisis on the South Relief Road, which is practically impassable for the many HGV drivers forced to come through Bandon.

We are petitioning the Cork County Council to urgently reconsider the T-PREP traffic management plan for Bandon.

1) Build the Northern Relief road in one phase
Macroom Rd, Convent Hill and Kilbrogan Hill cannot take any more traffic than it already has.
2) Do not route HGV’s down Kilbrogan Hill, passed St. Brogan’s School and passed the Town Park
3) Do not remove parking on Kilbrogan Hill
4) The Junction at Copper Grove is not suitable for heavy traffic or HGV’s
5) The impact on residents, schools, sports clubs and businesses on Kilbrogan Hill, Convert Hill, Kilbrogan Street, Macroom Rd., Dunmanway Rd and Laurel Walk areas will be devastating.

We, the undersigned want Cork County Council to commit to the completion of the Northern Relief Road in one phase to prevent the destruction of our urban environments and the significant impact this will have on all businesses reliant on HGV’s coming through Bandon.
