In order to make our park more inclusive and accessible to everyone we feel we need to install more bike racks! 

Malahide castle has only 1 set of bicycle racks available to safely store your bike. This rack is not accessible as it is in the center of the park by avoca! We want to install bike racks in a more accessible and easy to reach location for everyone!

We suggest to place these bike racks in all the main car park and entrance areas in Malahide castle such as the playground car park, the entrance across from St. Sylvesters school, the entrance across from the train station in the village etc. 

Having more access to bike racks will also be safer for school children who cycle to school as they would be able to park their bike away from the busy main road but still be close to the school so they can have easy access to the racks. It will also be beneficial for less confident road cyclists as they will be able to cycle through the park and avoid the roads.

I personally don’t like the turn leading up to my school as it’s on the main road and they’re isn’t a safe place to pull in so I can walk my bike across the road safely ,it would be really helpful to have a different option especially when the traffic is heavy. 

It’s also a nice option for people who are meeting up with friends in the park so they don’t have to carry the bike while they walk along. 

It would be more convenient for everyone if there were more bike racks in Malahide Castle!
