Why this petition matters

On 6 December 2021 Livingstone Sunhwa a pupil at St.Mathias Anglican Mission school in Zimbabwe was subjected to inhumane corporal punishment by the Headmaster. The Headmaster invited policemen to the school who beat up Livingston in front of the form 4 pupils. He was beaten using police shamboks and batton sticks. Eye witnesses say that it was so bad he could barely stand. Following these lashings Livingstone was taken in to their police station and he hasn’t been seen since. The school have failed to launch any appeals to find nor has the relevant Anglican Diocese. This is a disturbing case of child brutality  but more so we have a missing minor who remains unaccounted for todate (9 June 2022).

we are calling for the Anglican Church to support Livingstone family to launch an appeal for investigations to be carried out to find what happened to Livingston. Further the headmaster and staff must be held to account for this crime of failure to safeguard a pupil in their care including the brutal punishment he was subjected to. Why was he also not given access to medical attention given the state he was in following the torture.

We are calling on everyone to sign this petition it will be handed over to the Archibishop of Canterbury as the school is an Anglican Mission.

We must all be appalled that a young man has been disappeared at the hands of the police whilst in the care of The school .

we demand justice for Livingstone and his family !!! We want him found and accounted for !!!
