Robin Verma started this petition to Finance Ministry and

Listen to the plight of urban salaried class of India

The salaried class of India is really being exploited by government policies every now and then. They work day in and out to earn livelihood for their family, and excel in life.

However one-third of what they earn is taken by the government - with no accountability what-sover. Imagine someone working and earning INR 2 Lacs per month - with no increments. In 20 years of time, he would contribute close to 4.5 Lacs per year, almost 1 CR plus interest. Assume after 20 years if you are retired - what do you get - nothng ?? Just left in lurch to feed yourself and your family on your own?

Not only this, when ever you go out you pay tax - you pay tax on food, house, registry, car, petrol, road - toll, everything ?

What are we left with really - about 50 percent?

Even if the government takes this - what do we get in return?

1. Usable healthcare - No.

2. Free Insurance linked to earning capacity - No

3. Medicare - No

4. Relief on taxes (since we have already paid income tax) - No

5. Unemployment benefits - none.

Are we simply here to mint money? Is it our fault we are salaried ?

In lieu of lifelong payment of taxes, government should provide pension, unemployment benefits, medicare, indirect tax relief to us all who pay taxes.
