The tax rebate clause for Loss from Housing property was practically removed in the last few years. Its now 2 lac INR per annum.
The housing sector has been under a huge recession last decade. Projects have been delayed for 5-10 years. RERA happened but offered minimal respite to "Ongoing" projects. On top of that, the tax rebate that "SUFFERING" people could get has now been removed. Now for those whose houses are ready for registration, this was the time to have some tax rebate and somewhat make up for the loss incurred, for no fault of people who are honest tax payers. Because of your decision to cap the loss to max 2 lac INR per annum, all honest people are suffering for no fault of theirs. This change is fundamentally hard on people who actually needed a helping hand rather than made to suffer more, but this time because of the change in tax laws.
This is requesting you to kindly consider removing the 2 lac cap or atleast increasing the cap to 10 lac or more. The 7 year carry over is actually meaningless as for every year the cap is 2 INR so am not sure how it helps.
