Harish Achar started this petition to Finance Minister and

As we all know, agarbathi was giving self employment for lakhs of people in India from a very long time. As the time progressed even the requirement of agarbathi(perfumed) has increased expotentially. Even though India has the highest sales in agarbathi(perfumed). The manufacturers of raw agarbathi ( that is agarbathi without perfume) are still struggling to earn their daily needs. They invest on machines and on the setup of factory and hire people to start production. But they are forced to give at a loss price. The cost of manufacturing of raw agarbathi is 55rs per kilo(which includes raw material, labor, spares, rent, current) and above this if u have taken loan u will add upto 4 to 5 rs per kilo. But people are getting raw agarbathi from vietnam at 53 rs. Which is impossible for indian manufacturers to give at this price.  Few people have even attempted to take their lives as they couldn't face the loss.

REASON- Importing of Raw Agarbathi from Vietnam.

I dont know how the government can reduce the import duty on raw agarbathi and add to the existing problem.

And how can govt not decrease the import duty on raw material(BAMBOO STICKS).

On One hand our Prime  Minister is talking about MAKE IN INDIA, and on other hand they are decreasing import duty on the raw agarbathi. Which would give thousands of jobs here for people of India.

Solution: Please ban the import of raw agarbathi from vietnam or atleast increase the import duty on raw agarbathi from Vietnam to a minimum of 25% hence the cost of RAW AGARBATHI will be around 60rs. And decrease the import duty on bamboo sticks from China.

Please help us survive. Please help us earn for ourselves.

Thank you.
