PETITION AGAINST FREEZING OF DA OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

PETITION AGAINST FREEZING OF DA OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES
Why this petition matters

To
Nirmala Sitharaman,
FinanceMinister,
Government of India.
Presently, the whole world including our India is facing the deadly threat of Novel Corona Virus and we, the Rly. workers are fighting against with all our might hand in hand with others. We think, it is our primary task now. But in this unprecedented. and precarious situation, the Central government decided to freeze Dearness Allowances arbitrarily for long 18 months from 1st Jan, 2020 to 30th June, 2021without having any consultation with the recognised Unions/Federations. We vehemently oppose this arbitrary decision. We achieved this right to DA through a long struggle of almost 50 years including three nation-wide strikes of 1960, 1968 and 1974. It is not gift of charity. We are ready to help the Govt. in today's disastrous situation, but cannot allow you to curtail our legitimate dues at your will. Instead of snatching our lawful earnings, cancel your decision to give relief of 1.76 lakh crores to corporate sectors; please restore the huge amount of money with which some of the well-known industrialists fled this country. Then this freezing of DA will not be necessary. So, we urge upon you to please withdraw the orders of curtailment of DA immediately to give relief to the low-paid workers like us.
