COVID 19 PANDAMIC IS NOT OVER , RECOVERY BENEFITS SHOULD BE EXTEDED
These benefits during COVID 19 crises acted as a stimulus for the economy. Although the most of benefits are now finished but work still needs to be done for long lasting effects of the Covid benefits program. COVID 19 CERB or CRB eligibility income required should be reduced to $ 2000.00 from $ 5000,00 for 2019 or 2020 for employed or self employed. Especially in Alberta where unemployment rates have been higher for last many years. Because eligibility for getting unemployment insurance benefits during COVID 19 the average income is also 2000.00 ( 120 hours* 15 = 1800) . This change will make both the benefits equal and similar. If CRA start asking the money back from the individuals with less than $ 5000.00 income during 2019 or 2020 period the effect of benefits will be lost. This will put a lot of families in Alberta in financial problems and the country in economic problems again.
