Hello,

As many students may be aware, finals are on June 3rd which also happens to be the same day as Senior prom. Considering this is our last dance I believe that all students should have that day to enjoy themselves and prepare for an eventful night. As seniors, we have experienced many losses from Covid and this is one of the few normal experiences we are able to grasp as we say goodbye to our senior class. In addition to seniors many juniors who are not exempt for any finals at all also attend our prom and this impacts them as well. Last years prom was fun but definitely did not provide the same amount of excitement as it should be. The night before prom is something that is special where you prepare for the next night. This experience of excitement will now be overshadowed by finals. On the other aspect, many of the students care greatly about their grades, and not being given the night to fully focus on their studies will affect the outcome of these test scores. Now focusing on the day of, many girls and guys spend their day getting their nails and hair done or having their makeup done which is time-consuming, and having finals for half a day will interfere with appointments and timing skills. It would be great if we could move the finals to another day so we can fully focus on our education rather than having prom on our minds. Please consider this as it would make many of our students very happy.
