It seems Darryn Binder has become a scapegoat for the FIM MotoGP stewards. He has always been a hard-charger, and it's easy to see why a complacent official would make him an example. The inconsistent application of penalties by the stewards has become commonplace and detracted from some brilliant racing, especially in Moto3.

Pitlane starts, long-lap and ride-through penalties have made Darryn's job extremely difficult. Other riders are often seen to be committing the same type of transgressions and most get away with it scot-free. Darryn was black flagged for 'irresponsible riding' after he clashed fairings with a slower rider in the German GP Q1, while M Marquez made the same move on Quartararo in the MotoGP race L1 without consequence. Seen the '21DohaGP, where Miller looked over at Mir coming into the s/f straight and punted him into the scenery at 200km/h? Miller escaped with ZERO penalty. Where is the consistency?

Then came Darryn's THREE position docking for exceeding track limits after his brilliant ride to P4 in Assen, while the norm is a lesser penalty of dropping one position (Oliviera and Mir at '21Mugello). Is this a kind of unfair discrimination or are the infractions just not being shared with the fans?

Is Darryn being singled out because he is South African, has a funny but unfortunate Nickname, or because he doesn't bring the same amount of money into the sport as other riders?
