A Fight for Rights

Bill S988, Equal Protection of Unborn Babies Act effects women’s health by restricting the use of birth control and women’s right for protection against unwanted pregnancy. The bill states fertilized eggs have the right to attach and grow, severely limiting contraceptive options and pregnancy prevention measures for women. This impacts women’s rights over their own bodies, safe abortion options, and medical help to conceive. The bill would increase criminal investigations on medical procedures or miscarriages, prosecute women and doctors, and disregard medical expertise.
