We need to stop H.R. 127. This bill will endanger women and keep them from their rights to protect themselves. If this bill passes it would infringe on a woman's rights to bear arms under the second amendment. There are several sections under this bill that will make it very difficult to obtain a firearm to protect themselves and their families. For example, if a woman has been hospitalized for depression this also includes post partum depression which many women experience naturally after giving birth. Another example is the cost of obtaining a license (which has not been exposed yet), training and a special $800 a year insurance all out of pocket for basic ownership. And the biggest threat is a national firearm registration that will include the make, model, and serial number of the firearm, the identity of the owner of the firearm, the date the firearm was acquired by the owner, and where the firearm is or will be stored. Under this resolution the Attorney General will make the details of the database accessible to all members of the public thus making it easier for women to be more vulnerable to being attacked, robbed or worse. Please help us in our fight to protect women.
