Concerned Public started this petition to Fife health and social care (NHS FIFE)

Queen Margaret Hospice based on Ward 16 of the Queen Margaret Hospital has been closed now to admissions from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. While at the start this was required to protect some of our more vulnerable community members it is becoming more clear that there is no clear plan or reasoning behind why an important service within fife has not re-opened its doors to the public as yet. In recent days we have seen the closure of Randolph wemyss hospice beds this has further reduced the inpatient beds allocated to palliative care patients. This is of great concern to the communities in fife.

This has seen the team at the Queen Margaret hospice split across fife, working in the community and the Victoria Hospice in Kirkcaldy. While providing palliative care to people at home is good and well recived by some this is not the case for everyone. Many families struggle with this and are ever so greatful wen they are given a bed in the hospice. The ward at Queen Margaret has suppiled exceptional care to many people over the years and the staff only want to continue provide this standard of care the people when they are most in need.

We are asking the Director Of Health and Social Care and the Integrated Joint Board to consider making the reopening of Queen Margaret Hospice/Ward 16 a priority.
