Currently there is a petition to Fife Council calling for greater action against the seagulls who reside in residential areas in Dalgety Bay, and Inverkeithing.

We think it's important the council are also aware of the opposition. Not all of us see the seagulls as a problem, and are happy to coexist in peace. We are aware that the seagulls reside with us due to easier meal opportunities, our homes encroaching on their natural habitat and the decline of the fishing industry. We do not view the seagulls as pests but as a natural consequence to human interference within the environment. We therefore do not wish to further interfere with or disturb nature. Many of us have grown to appreciate the seagulls, to accept their natural behavioural traits, and have adapted to their presence. We do not support any action that Fife Council may consider and believe the only fair solution to this issue is for all residents to adopt a mindset of acceptance & tolerance.
