The Golden Tara is of Historical Significant to all Butuanons. It was stolen from the Manobo who found it, and later on was sold to Fields Museum in Chicago for only 4,000 pesos back in 1922, based on a fear, that the Philippine Government might melt the piece to aid in its financial loss. Now, this important historical image has an estimated value of 1.5 million pesos or approximately 30,000 USD which our government can afford and the threat of melting it is no longer prevalent, it is therefore, this item must be sold willingly by the fields museum to facilitate the return of this craft to its original home.
