Fielding Primary School Academisation: The Petition
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
Just two weeks before the end of the summer term at Fielding Primary School, it was announced that the Governing Board voted to convert to academy status with the ambition to lead a Multi Academy Trust (MAT).
The petition will be presented TODAY at the Governors' meeting, Oct 2nd.
We, the Friends of Fielding Primary School - a growing group of increasingly concerned parents and carers - feel there has not been enough time or discussion around the semi-privatisation of an already Ofsted 'Outstanding' community school - a decision which would leave the school irreversibly without the support currently provided by Ealing's Local Education Authority.
So far, there has been a total lack of transparency to the process, which we feel is being rushed and pushed through, parent information sessions have been cancelled, and no financial projections have been given. We have many, many more reasons to be worried (*see survey https://is.gd/Pq3fB9 ).
In addition, the Head, Cllr David Milligan and the Board of Governors declined invitations from the 'Friends of Fielding Primary School' to speak at a debate held on Wednesday 27th September 2017.
We, the Friends of Fielding Primary School, and the undersigned, call upon the Governing body of Fielding Primary School to extend the consultation period for academisation to the end of July 2018, and towards the end of this period to conduct a ballot of all parents/carers organised by the Electoral Reform Society, so that the Board can consider these results as part of their final decision.
