"Formula 1® racing is the ultimate test of man and machine - pushing car and driver to their absolute limits in pursuit of one simple goal. Speed." (Source: Formula1.com)
With this years newly introduced rules & regulations the FIA deeply disappointed their fans and viewers. For decades Formula 1 was perceived the most challenging and powerful class in racing.
The downgrade to turbocharged V6 engines completely took away the shiver one would get by just hearing an F1 car from a 5 mile distance, and is a reason why enthusiasts now hesitate to buy tickets for the real F1 experience.
It is very noble thinking to care about the environment and e.g. introduce new limits on fuel consumption. But this is Formula 1, and not a high school competition on energy saving. In fact, the environment is preserved when millions of people watch the races at home rather than driving around in their cars at that time.
It feels like this years championship will be all about "who builds the most reliable car" and not "who is the best and most competitive driver". Please focus on driver skills and not so much on technology when you come up with new rules.
Thanks for destroying the 2014 season.
