Homeroom Teachers to Read Names Off at Graduation
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
I ask that ONLY CURRENT FHS STUDENTS OR ALUMNI sign this as this is an issue for Fond du Lac High School, thank you!
We were informed today that instead of having our homeroom teacher (which most of us have had for 4 years) read our names off at our graduation ceremony as years prior, our class officers are to read our names off because some of the teachers "don't want to." Not only am I sure that the majority of us don't even know who more than one or two of our class officers are (or really care for more than one or two of them, for that matter), but we have grown up with adults telling us to do things we don't want to do because "everyone has to do things in life that they don't want to do." I think this is very unfair to those students that have been looking forward to having a teacher they have connected with and a teacher who has watched them grow tremendously in the past four years read their name off before they receive their diploma and begin the next big step in their lives. This petition was created in hopes of changing this awful decision so that students may graduate by the grace of a teacher they have come to know and not one of the 600 other students in their class that they barely know. This is our only high school graduation after all.
