Pam Mapes started this petition to FF Thompson Hospital Canandaigua NY

As of January 31 2019, Brighter Day In Canandaigua New York, blanketed by FF Thompson Health, will be closing in 90 days, due to the lack of profit.   This decision to close came from  FF Thompson Hospital.

If your not familiar with Brighter Day , it is a daycare for disabled and elderly people  to socialize, the most important part is, Brighter Day is a MEDICAL program. Social programs don’t have nurses that monitor medical conditions, give meds, manage blood sugars, even provide a special diet. Managed long term care programs use Brighter Day. In fact, most programs send participants to Brighter Day, including Ontario County Office for the Aging. The only similar programs are  Geneva and Newark. Most programs are SOCIAL, which means that they are missing the medical part. The participants at Brighter Day require medical monitoring.

There is a big  shortage of services like this,Long Term Home Care Agencies won't even come here...it has to be private pay agencies that just aren’t affordable for most.

Brighter Day allows families to continue to work and bring your love ones home and still be with their families.

The staff at Brighter Day is an outstanding group of people.  I personally can't say  enough about  how much they have done for my family. My mother lives with me and she can't be a lone, we tried to fine aids and Ontario Co. has a shortage. We tried for months.  I have to work and knowing  my mother is at Brighter Day  she is safe.

Places like this are needed. We are all going to get older, and I hope personally that there are places like Brighter Days if I need it.  Participants just want to be able to stay in their homes and sleep in their own bed.

Thank You for reading this and I hope that you see the importance of Brighter Days.
