Schools have taken it upon themselves to take girls out of class and take away from their learning experience when their shoulders, bellybuttons, or thighs, etc. are showing. The most common excuse is that this causes a distraction. This leaves a lot of people to wonder why schools punish girls when boys can’t be respectful. Even though teenage boys can be distracted by girls, I don’t think shoulders and bellybuttons are what they’re looking at. It’s absolutely disgusting to hear grown adults sexualizing bellybuttons and shoulders. Taking innocent things and sexualizing them is not only disgusting but can make young girls insecure. So next time you make a girl miss 25 minutes of her class because she needs to “cover up” think about what you’re doing.
