I saw an article on a young woman who competed in this competition. I do not know her, but am outraged that this has not been corrected before now. How DARE you people take these young ones rights away! They worked HARD for their standing, they were HONEST, and they had a RIGHT to be RECOGNIZED for these accomplishments!!

These swimmers really had no choice. I have a friend who swam in the DDR at this time. She was given something too, but it made her sick. She refused to take it and was kicked off the team.
