The students at Taf@Saghalie want to establish a Korean high school class so that we may continue learning the Korean culture and language. Our Korean language teacher Mrs. Whanhee Yi has done an exceptional job ensuring her students comprehend and immerse themselves in the Korean language. Not only does she provide cooking, language and traditional dance lessons, she also helps students after school. Since a high school Korean class wasn’t available this year Mrs.Yi offered to teach any students who were interested in learning Korean after school every Thursday. Additionally, she also has a Korean club every Tuesday where students are currently being choreographed to do a KPOP dance for our multicultural night. Now with the Korean war, which has been ongoing for 70 years at the 38th parallel, possibly coming to an end now couldn’t be a better time to embrace and understand Korean culture. Many more students are becoming interested in the Korean culture and language due to KPOP, Taekwondo and Korean food. This class can provide those students the opportunity to learn about topics they’re interested in.
