We have excessive fireworks involving loud percussion booms that hinder the rights of our community members.  Everyone should feel safe in their own homes and within our communities.  All types of fireworks for personal use are illegal at all times in Federal Way.  However, people still set of fireworks and percussion booms in residential neighborhoods during football games, on 4th of July, New Year’s Eve, and other times.  This last New Year’s Eve many of us were not able to celebrate the new year in our own homes due to excessive percussion booms constantly being set off for 4 hrs or more, and it did not stop until the early morning hours.  Some of us dealt with fear with our loved ones, family and pets inside our homes.  We should feel safe within our own homes, and we want changes done to enforce the existing laws we already have with regards to fireworks, excessive noise, and disturbance of the peace.
