Stop the discrimination against second class lower graduates

This petition had 115 supporters

Over 500,000 Nigerians graduate with second class lower yearly. They graduate to a labour market they cannot compete in, a labour market that is heavily discriminated against them.

About 80% of job vacancies in Nigeria has  "Minimum of 2:1" as a requirement. This means second class lower graduates can't apply for  80% of jobs in Nigeria.

There is no real reason why job vacancies should have minimum of 2:1 as a requirement. The only purpose it serves is to sentence second class lower graduates into an almost hopeless life after graduating.

Graduating with second class lower doesn't equate to having below par intelligence. Second class lower graduates can function effectively at Banks, Oil and Gas companies, Telecommunication companies, Manufacturing companies e.t.c .

Employers should look beyond the class and offer equal opportunities to all, and emphasize more on what experience and skills the person brings.

The discrimination must stop. Minimum of 2:1 has to go !
