Bullying is increasing at schools in Nigeria with resultant effect in victimization, harrasment, brutalization and death recorded at some schools while most of these cases seems to be swept under carpet and or treated with levity. 

WHAT ARE OUR CASES FOR THIS PETITION

1. Slyvester Oromoni(Jnr) is 12 years old, a Junior Secondary School student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria was allegedly bullied and physically abused in school. He died on the 3rd December 2021 from the complications of the abuse.

2. 14 years old Karen Aondodoo Akpagher was a student of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, Nigeria. She was allegedly raped at school and she died from complicationa on 22nd June 2021.

3. Nuhu Yahaya, 13 years old of Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja, Nigeria was beaten to death by his teacher over failure to do assignment on the 9th August 2021.

OUR CONCERNS

1. There's increasing cases including unreported cases of this nature in schools across the country and we strongly feel it's time for Government to make strong statement against all forms of violation in schools on children and move forward to make open reports into these inquiries.

2. Justice to these children should be served to serve as deterrent.

3. Put in place all that is required to make schools safe for children in line with SDG4 and SDG4(a) in particular.

NO CHILD SHOULD DIE, BE KILLED FOR GOING TO SCHOOL ANY LONGER. That's our prayer.
