Toll booths are increasingly becoming more and more congested and dangerous, as travelers without electronic passes or with expired passes choose the electronic pass-only lanes, whether accidentally or on purpose to save themselves time. This causes unnecessary delays for travelers who do have valid electronic passes, road-rage incidents and unnecessary idling of vehicles.
I will also mention that toll booths are also driven into quite regularly.
The technology exists to pay missed tolls online or fine violators using their license plate number, so why not do the world a favor and remove ALL toll booths?
