Recently it has come to my attention that our preschool’s staff and students will be required to wear a mask at school. As a parent, this is very concerning. And I know I speak on behalf of most of the parents at our center. Any person, especially preschool students, should not be required to wear a mask. We feel that it is very unhealthy for anyone, but especially unhealthy for such little kids who’s bodies are still growing and developing. Breathing excessive amounts of carbon dioxide can be dangerous, and masks can cause this for our bodies if worn for prolonged periods of time. Many, including myself would even go so far as to say this may also affect our children’s immune systems. There are certain circumstances where masks should be worn, such as being around someone who is already very sick, or someone who has cancer and or other serious illnesses. But, to ask our preschool children to wear masks all day at school is just asinine. And as parents, we feel it is our job to address and petition if need be whoever is in charge of this particular mask mandate. Many of us are being forced to pull our children from preschool in order to keep them safe from the complications that wearing a mask for prolonged periods of time could cause. We have hopes that we will again someday see a world where we can all be better then this mandate. We are asking anyone who agrees with us to sign this petition and help our kids be more healthy at school and in general.
