Ayo (CitizenAY) Ogundimu started this petition to FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA and

The federal government of Nigeria has illegally arrested Sowore and they are refusing to honour the court decision of Judge Taiwo Taiwo, that stipulated that Omoyele Sowore, be granted bail on provision of his international passport.

The federal government is refusing to comply with the court decision. They have instead set up another court decision that stipulates a bail condition that goes against the human rights of Sowore.

On Friday, October 4, 2019, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted a N100m bail to Sowore with two sureties, who must be resident in Abuja and also have landed properties in the city.

The trial judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu as part of bail conditions for the activist held that the sureties must deposit the original copies of their properties document to the court registry, adding that one of the sureties must also deposit N50 million with the court pending the determination of the case.

We demand the unconditional release of Sowore as he has committed no offence.

This petition will be presented to the British Prime minister at 10 Downing Street to Boris Johnson once we reach 100,000 signatures.

We also demand that the NJC stop harassing Judge Taiwo Taiwo, this shows our Judiciary is comprised.

We must no longer be silent!!!
