Why this petition matters

Started by Gage Montgomery

After a long day at work, the average American would like to kick back and have a cigarette of their choosing. Menthol cigarettes do not cause more health problems than full flavored, for this reason there should not be a ban on them. If we allow this to continue we will see cigarettes banned completely. Personally, I do not like full flavor cigarettes and I avoid them at all costs. I’ve been buying cigarettes legally since I was 18, before that law was changed. Luckily I was already 21 by the time the age to buy them was changed. I smoke cigarettes when I’m stressed out, it clears my mind and puts me in a better place mentally. I can not sit idly by while one of the only joys I have in today’s society is stripped away from me due to whatever reasoning. I pay taxes, I work, I smoke menthol cigarettes. The people who are getting paid by MY taxes are trying to take away my preferred cigarette. I hope we can stand together and stop this. Yes, cigarettes aren’t good for you, the average cigarette smoker understands that. I mean, you have to be 21 to buy them. If I can serve my country at 18 but can’t smoke a menthol cigarette at 21 then we need to change something else, the slogan of this country because we won’t be the land of the free. They will start with this then slowly they will do away with alcohol and all the other small joys we have as the middle class. That’s why I feel that this needs to be done. If we don’t stop this ridiculousness now, how far will it go. Please, sign and save menthol cigarettes.
