Sara Hernandez started this petition to Federal Bureau of Prisons and

As correctional officers we must put aside fear and come to a dangerous work environment every day. We must allow inmates to make their own decisions regarding medical treatment, medication, or vaccination they do or do not want regardless of what we think of their decisions or how they may put us at risk for contagious diseases when there are inmate fights, self inflicted injuries, or staff assaults.

Federal healthcare workers must advocate for patients rights, despite having broken the law. But what about our own? Who’s going to advocate for us? Making federal corrections workers choose between taking a medical therapy that has no longitudinal safety data and our career is a slap in the face and a violation of our rights. We need to be stronger than ever and fight mandatory vaccination. You do not have to be a correctional worker or healthcare worker to understand that this is discrimination. If you have loved ones or friends that work in corrections or the medical field, this petition is for you too.
