Extraneous cops shouldn't stopover with other officers during traffic stops.

How anxious do you feel when a cop pulls you over? Does the presence of a second and sometimes third squad car make you feel safer?... Or more vulnerable? You're probably panicking inside. Until it dawns on you that the un-requested back up officers merely wanted to catch up because they recognized the officer who stopped you. Then that weird bittersweet relief washes over you. Surely they can socialize during their free time or when they aren't in the middle of a traffic stop. We need all police departments at all levels to understand the intimidating perception they have given to civilians. They need to recognize that socializing while stopping civilians is unnecessary and unprofessional. It is an abuse of power to selfishly cause stress to civilians for no particular reason. Police officers should not be allowed to do this and should be penalized when the department is faced with complaints made by civilians.
