This is a call to the FAA to have them stop referring to Drone (SUAS) operators as "Pilots". Operating them requires little to no skill at all. They can be purchased at your local toy store or hobby shop.
This is very demeaning to real Pilots and all the hard work, money, and time that went in to obtain their Pilot Certificates and Ratings.
Drone operators have no risk to their own lives, and they don't require any training at all other than to stay away from airports and special use airspace. They should not be treat as Pilots. If they are Pilots, then what is the difference between them and a child who throws a paper airplane. It is also an aircraft that is flying thru the air. Class B, C, D airspace around airports begins at 0' AGL, and they are also flying within that airspace when throwing their paper airplane around.
The Airline industry is currently in need of pilots. Calling drone operators, "pilots" demeans the profession and skillset, and makes it less likely for people to want to become real aircraft pilots.
