Brian Hollis started this petition to federal and state governments

Obesity is a growing epidemic in Australia with associated increased levels of type 2 diabetes and numerous other health issues including shortened life expectancy.

No penalties for normal portions. People buying fast food at fast food outlets are penalised if they elect a normal caloric portion, by nature of the fact that excessive portions and massive calories are discounted on price. This price discounting encourages people especially those in lower socioeconomic groups to buy excessive calories, more than their body’s need and therefore gain fat and weight

I started this petition because.........

I am a concerned citizen and medical professional who is stunned that so many other reasons for obesity are found and this blatantly obvious reason is never mentioned. One should not use economic incentives for excess calories to be consumed and thereby punish people to pay relatively more for a normal portion
