L-cysteine is an amino acid added to bread, donuts, rolls, even burritos as a dough conditioner. It is made from dissolved human hair (mostly from China) or the hair of pigs or duck feathers. This is a non-essential amino acid and can be found in high protein foods such as chicken, turkey, broccoli, milk and eggs. There's no excuse for putting hair or feathers in our food.
