The vast majority of LGBT men do not have and blood borne viruses and would love to save lives but remain banned from doing so.

I'm signing because I'm a frequent donor and I don't want to keep lying about my sexuality just to save someone's life.

It's completely ridiculous that gay and bisexual men are refused when wanting to give blood there is no reason if behind this other than homophobia and that is not a valid reason

Because when you donate blood at my school, they ask about your sexual orientation and sex history.

I am both a Red Cross Blood Center volunteer and a surgeon-hopeful with a sister who required multiple surgeries, so I truly understand the ever-growing demand for blood. And with a proper understanding of the mechanisms of HIV/AIDS, there is no reason why male members of the LGBT+ community should be barred from contributing to the vital supply of blood.
