We are the family of McKenzie -- a vibrant, giving, and sweet 12-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an inoperable brain tumor, on November 28, 2012. The median overall survival of children diagnosed with DIPG is approximately 9 months, making it one of the most devastating pediatric malignancies. But McKenzie still has hope in the form of Antineoplastons therapy – a treatment that could save her life if the FDA grants her compassionate use.
McKenzie loves playing basketball and soccer, spending time with her family and friends, and caring for the many pets she’s adopted, which include her horse Star, puppy Marshmellow, and bird Sparkle. She is full of an amazing passion to live life to the fullest, despite her ongoing battle with this horrible disease.
But McKenzie is fast approaching the one year mark of her diagnosis, and her latest MRI revealed that the tumor has started to grow again. We are running out of time, but not hope. Antineoplastons is the first and only cancer therapy in medical history to cure the type of tumor McKenzie has, and her doctors think it might save her.
But since the treatment is not yet approved by the FDA, McKenzie can’t access it without a "compassionate use" exemption. The FDA has made 471 exemptions for this treatment to date. Now, her family is hoping this petition will make the FDA add McKenzie to their list of people able to access this potentially life-saving treatment.
Please help our family save our amazing little girl by signing our petition.

We are requesting that you grant McKenzie Lowe, a 12 year old girl with a DIPG brain tumor, a compassionate use exemption to be treated by Dr. Burzynski with his ANP drug (Antineoplastons).
The median overall survival of children diagnosed with DIPG is approximately 9 months. The 1 and 2 year survival rates are approximately 30% and less than 10%, respectively. These statistics make it one of the most devastating pediatric malignancies.
McKenzie is fast approaching the one year mark and her latest MRI revealed that the tumor has started to grow again. We are running out of time and Antineoplastons is the first and only cancer therapy in world medical history to cure a DIPG. Please help us to save this amazing little girl by allowing her the freedom to get the treatment she needs. No family should be denied the chance to at least try.
