Accessing information about myself is VERY important to me. I don't need the government telling me I am not "mature" enough to handle the information I receive.

Because I don't feel that the FDA should be in charge of protecting me from my myself. No matter how dumb they may think I am or how dumb I actually - I should be allowed to make informed decisions on my own behalf rather than paying tax dollars to the FDA for them to turn around and tell me I shouldn't be allowed to make informed decisions for that I believe are in my own best interest. I honestly think this is the result of bidding from some very well-connected lobbying organizations (or cronyism but that may just be semantics).

I am a health care provider. Making this information available to the general public can prompt individuals to ask questions and seek health care earlier rather than later. Seeking healthcare earlier can help change the focus of care to strategies aimed at prevention, or at least the delay of the onset of illness.

The FDA has overstepped here, no reason people should not be able to pay a company like 23andMe for this information.
