Fcps has been avidly ignorant in listening to the needs of students and staff. Risking the health of student, staff, as well as their respective families.  Everyday spent at school walking shoulder to shoulder with 5000 other students in the hallways whom half don’t even wear masks is a danger to our health. Fcps is being selfish with their decision to keep schools open, bending over backwards trying everything in their power to keep the schools open. There are over 100 bus drivers out with covid-19, countless teachers, and over 1,000 students who are currently in self isolation. Students whom are going to be missing 5-10 days of valuable classroom instruction as fcps has made it clear that they will not even make virtual an OPTION. The community needs to stand up and protest the county for our own health. Protest until they make virtual learning an option for all those who have elderly family, underlying health concerns, and simply cannot risk having this virus. Fcps is remaining open due to the money they receive from the state whilst continuing in person learning, and they do not wish to lose those funds. It was never about “what’s best for our students” as they continuously claim however they won’t listen when the overwhelming majority of students and staff are demanding for virtual learning? #closefcps
