Remove hours from the Fairfax County Public Schools calendar in June
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
This year, Fairfax County public schools students recieved a mere one snow day and 3 2-hour delays, while the school calendar accounts for 13 snow days. In the month of June, most high school students attend school for only a few hours, because it is the time when finals take place, and students take one final a day, with no other classes. Our simple request is that the same privelage (attending school only a few hours during the last few days of the year) be extended to middle and elementary school students. Whole FCPS will claim that they cannot remove DAYS from the school year, they have the ability to remove hours, because our school days are longer than the required length. Finally, the first day of school is being moved back to august this year, meaning FCPS students have a shorter summer. Lengthening their summer will provide for happier students in FCPS
