Speed Bumps on Dore Avenue, Portchester
This petition had 450 supporters
On Friday 27th October, we lost our cat Ralph. He was hit by a car going down Dore avenue. He was a part of our family and the biggest reason I decided to make this petition.
Dore Avenue has a crematorium on it and is a residential area. Linden Lea, just off of Dore Avenue, leads to 2 schools. All this being said, drivers drive at high speed up and down this hill and it is not safe!
On many occassions, I have struggled to get out of my road onto Dore Avenue because of the speed people are going. I have spoken to Family that have visited, as well as neighbours and they agree. Not only is this speed putting other drivers at risk, but say a child runs out into road? As I have mentioned, there are 2 schools just off of Dore Avenue, and I see parents and children walking down Dore Avenue everyday.
I have watched people drive down this road at such high speeds because they feel they can because they are driving down a hill. Its not fair on the people who live down here, as well as the wild life and pets that live with said residents.
Please sign this petition, not only for Ralph, but for every other owner who has lost a cat on this road (and any other road to be fair) so we can have speed bumps to control the speed and flow of traffic on that hill.
Many thanks x
