In late February we were given notice that Father Etheredge is to be removed as Principal of Aurora Central Catholic High School and Superintendent of the surrounding Catholic schools in the area to be replaced by a yet to be named, non-clergy, leader of our school system.

Let your voice be heard in Rockford that we do not support this move and need Father Etheredge to remain at ACC!  His 40 years of blending faith and education represent a skill set that is not easily replaced and would leave a clergy void in the school (there are no other priests assigned to ACC).

As we emerge from the pandemic, ACC needs to project more stability to students, families, and alumni of the school, not more turnover. The school is approaching a crossroads of capital improvements and needs the architect who began that vision to complete it. Father’s replacement will have a negative impact on enrollment, donations, and morale of the community. Please do not allow this event to occur!
