Falmouth Board of Selectmen, I would hope that at this week's meeting you would reconsider Sara Hines' request for The Scholastic Summer Reading Road Trip to stop in town.
The towns special permit group "didn't express any particular concerns" other than the event was in July.
The final vote, which ended in a 2-2 tie, asked to use 5 parking spaces in the town hall lot for the Scholastic bus and the side green for activities.
As far as I understand The FVA and the Chamber are ok with the permit request. An event of this notoriety would beneift both the children of this community, but also the small businesses.
Eight Cousins supports this community in countless ways, and I would ask the Selectmen to look at this special permit again at this week's meeting and cast a decisive vote.
And for those who would like to support a small business that supports our community and kids in so many ways please voice your concern and ask them to reconsider and revote:
Or join me and others at this week's selectmen's meeting.
