Dear Fr. William Lawrence, FSSP, Provincial Superior:

It is with heavy hearts that we write to you following the arrest of our former pastor.

Given the disturbing events, we request that Fr. John Berg be assigned to us temporarily, if he is able and willing.

There is a very strong sense of distress pervading St. Mary’s. Many of us feel like sheep without a shepherd, given how many priests have passed through our parish in recent times. 

After this latest event, we strongly fear for the well-being and perhaps even the existence of our young community.

We know that FSSP is especially challenged now to provide good priests, long term, to all of the parishes it faithfully serves. But we would still like to request the reassignment of Fr. Berg to us for a time, as we heal.
