Thousands of Students In FCPS love gaming, and have the passion to making it onto the big stage in front of thousands. But the only reason that is stopping many is the FCPS School board. The reason why they're stopping us is because of mainly, First Person Shooter Titles Like: CS:GO,(Counter Strike: Global Offense) Call Of Duty, Battlefield, etc. But the thing that bothers most students is Fortnite being categorized as a "Violent FPS Game" which it may not be true, but ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) gives the game rating "T" for teen. And so with the company that VHSL (Virginia High School League) uses it called PlayVS an Esports Company that allows High School Students as well as College students to Compete with other teams around their state or even around other states.

As a student's perspective I have personally checked out the website and emailed staff members at my high school and this is what they had to say. 

"PlayVS allows “shooting” games which FCPS will not support or join.  We were looking forward to starting Esports at FCPS but we are currently on hold until the county decides on another platform."

And so I have checked the website and so, there are 3 sections for different teams. High school, College, and Youth. And so, the games that you can ONLY play are listed here. Madden 21, Fifa 21, LoL (League of Legends), Rocket League and, SMITE. But then you look at the College section, they basically have the same thing but including Fortnite and Overwatch. And so for youth, it's only Fortnite and Overwatch.

So we want you to help us FCPS Students to let us have a eligibility to have Esports in general as well as teams compete with the schools in Virginia.
