This is a petition for Facebook to take down an Elliot Rodger fan page. Rodger was the perpetrator of the 2014 Isla Vista Massacre. The attack was a hate crime on the basis that it was intended to kill women. The hatred that fueled the attack did not die that day and is celebrated on the “Elliot Rodger Supreme Gentleman RIP” fan page.

Despite numerous pleas, Facebook has refused to take page on the grounds “Elliot Rodger Supreme Gentleman RIP” does not violate Facebook’s Community Standards, which the page in fact does. According to Facebook, they do not allow groups are engaged in “terrorist activity or organized criminal activity.”

Facebook’s Community Standards states: “We also remove content that expresses support for groups that are involved in the violent or criminal behavior mentioned above. Supporting or praising leaders of those same organizations, or condoning their violent activities, is not allowed.” The Elliot Rodger fan violates all the stated conditions. Please sign this petition to ask Facebook to do the right thing.
