There are various articles that tells about the negative effects of cigarette-smoking. It can cause lung damage, cancer to the respiratory system, organ failure, and could probably affect the people around you.

Smoking doesn't only affect the smoker itself. It also affects the people that can inhale the smoke you emitted. This can also be dangerous to their health. Young, old, and sick people will be affected. Smoking causes diminished overall health, increased absenteeism from work, and increased health care utilization and cost. Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease, which are among the leading causes of death in the United States. It damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your heart beat faster and your blood pressure go up. Clots can also form. Blockages caused by smoking can also reduce blood flow to your legs and skin. Smoking can increase your risk for cataracts (clouding of the eye’s lens that makes it hard for you to see). It can also cause age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is damage to a small spot near the center of the retina, the part of the eye needed for central vision.

We all know the health risks of smoking, but that doesn’t make it any easier to kick the habit. Whether you’re an occasional teen smoker or a lifetime pack-a-day smoker, quitting can be really tough. To successfully stop smoking, you’ll need to address both the addiction and the habits and routines that go along with it. But it can be done. With the right support and quit plan, any smoker can kick the addiction—even if you’ve tried and failed multiple times before.
