Dear Mark Zuckerberg,

When Facebook unilaterally censors user content regarding important messages and images of war crimes committed and shown on global news channels it sets a dangerous precedent that further hurts and silences certain  communities, especially ones living in danger. 

Facebook’s value of human life should be more important than anything else, repeated silencing of users,  that attempt to make their stories and struggles known proves it is not. That is why we request that Facebook clarify its policy on removing video and other content, should be reviewed FB should stand for truth for helping people who fight for life every day!

Specifically, we encourage  Facebook to:

Make policies about how Facebook makes decisions to censor content clear and accessible to the public.

Create a public appeals platform

Let people practice freedom of speech, especially in cases like war/conflict where it can help people and maybe the only way to inform others, family they can’t reach otherwise  vs silencing / blocking them unless required to by law.
