Glyn Marston started this petition to Facebook and

In light of the arrest of Walsall councillor SEAN COUGHLAN for child grooming and engagement of children in sexual online chat. The issue of transparency is more important now than ever. Coughlan created fake Facebook profiles in order to engage young children into talk of a very illicit nature- he remained undetected for ten years. He was confronted and caught by an online paedophile hunter group after he shared pictures of his private ( erect) parts to a girl he believed to be 14 years of age. This man has been in positions of trust for many organisations and could gain access to many personal information on many vulnerable folks. We need organisation’s such as Facebook to take a more responsible approach to ensuring that children and vulnerable people are protected on social media. I want to bring in a law that makes members register themselves officially before being allowed to set up online accounts (proof of identity and address) - therefore, any alias online accounts they set up will have a name of the creator/ administrator on the page, they will not be able to hide behind an alias. I believe this will keep our children safer.
