As a huge fan of Betty White, I think everyone would like it if we made January 17th Betty White Day not just in her hometown but have it nationwide! And in honor of her memory to have your favorite Cheesecake with your friends and to donate to your local humane society's/shelters on that day as well! Why not have both to celebrate and remember her by?! This 1 in a million lady brought a lot of joy, love and laughter to the whole world. When I first started this petition I was completely heartbroken, sad and depressed just like the rest of the world. As the 17th approached I was so so happy that Betty's fans donated literally Thousands of Dollars to the zoo's and shelters all across America! January 17th can still be recognized as National Betty White Day and that includes donating, having your favorite Cheesecake with your friends, the list seems endless! It's up to the people on how they want to celebrate and remember her by!

She really was America's Sweetheart and always will be! She was a National Treasure! Betty’s 80+ years in television is officially the longest career in the history of TV! They're now  saying she's the "First Lady of Television" "A pioneer of Television"

Maybe it's just me but when I read that it gave me goosebumps! She has accomplished so much in her life! Her love for animals will carry on for many many years to come and we will share the same love for animals as she did!

For everything that she had given us (love and laughter) and her love and devotion to so many animals I just really wanted her to have her very own special day and that's why I chose her birthday.

So many people want to see January 17th as National Betty White Day! And if it doesn't happen I'm ok with that. Because I know everyone will celebrate that day for years to come!
