Facebook / Meta needs to provide LIVE tech support for users with hacked accounts

The Issue

Imagine you wake up one morning to find out you could no longer access your Facebook account because it was hacked. Things are about to get worse.

First, apps on your phone stop working because they are linked to your FB. You try to use your debit card and it's declined because the hacker purchased Facebook Ads and drained your bank account. A few days later you lose your job because the hacker used your account to post negative, offensive and threatening things. And if you run a business on FB, you'll probably have to start over from scratch.

Think it can't happen to you? So did I. It happens over and over, about 600,000 times a day FB users are getting their accounts hacked and most will NEVER regain control of their account. And yes, you will lose your FB pictures.

You will try to use Facebook's support links but most will encounter problems with no additional support offered. You will go to Google to try to find a solution just to read link after link of others, just like you, looking for help. (and don't call any 800 number and pay for support - those are scams!) You will only find one phone number for FB and it plays a recording with useless info. Don't waste your time trying to contact them by using other social media platforms either...they won't respond. You will find some email addresses to contact but again, they rarely reply back, if ever.

Unless you know someone who works at FB or you are famous you are basically alone. You will walk circles and like most, end up locking your account for 24 hours at a time because you keep requesting reset codes (that by the way, FB never sends to you.)

Tech giants like Facebook are notoriously difficult to get a hold of when it comes to account issues. In a late 2021 press release, Facebook admitted to not having live support to help users with their locked-out accounts. FB doesn't care what damage the hacker does to your life.

We need to take a stand! Afterall, we as users have made FB billions of dollars. We need to force FB to offer live support for users who can't access their hacked or locked accounts.
